We can’t think of anything more New England in the Fall then getting our cute boots, sweaters, and jewelry on and driving out to a working farm for some pumpkin picking, cider donuts, corn mazes, and of course apple picking.  This week we headed off to Connors Farm in Danvers, MA and this was no ordinary pumpkin patch.  The farm was created in 1904 by the Connors family.  They have followed generations of farmers who had been farming that same land for over 300 years.  

This is a working farm with over 10 acres of land growing everything from flowers, to berries to pumpkins.  Best of all this farm is protected by agricultural preservation restrictions so it will be forever an open space. They also have a community supported agriculture program that allows farms to sell their crops ahead of the harvest season allowing them money upfront to mitigate costs and finance the farming operation itself.  This program is a win-win, by providing families fresh clean produce and by keeping local farming thriving and preserving green space.

We had a blast roaming through the sunny Charlie Brown Corn Maze, collecting our pumpkins by the wheelbarrow full, and shopping in the amazing farmers market!(We shop everywhere we can!)  The temperature may have dropped, but our sense of outdoor adventure hasn’t.  Dress warm, style for fun, and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine!
